When buying or selling on the Facebook Marketplace be wary of buyers or sellers wanting you to text them. The scammer will want you to text them and they will send a ‘verification code’ to prove you’re a ‘real person’. What that code is really for is to reset your password on your Facebook account. From there they have access to your contacts and can ask for money via messenger. Just say NO to codes!
